I'm Michelle, a writer and researcher based in Canberra, Australia, with a love for fantasy, mythology, gothic storytelling, and emotionally complex characters.

My work explores power, intimacy, identity, and the darker edges of human relationships through speculative and romantic fantasy fiction. I'm drawn to stories that blur the line between beauty and danger, tenderness and control, myth and memory.

Alongside my creative writing, I research fantasy literature, feminist literary criticism, and the ways fiction shapes our understanding of love, desire, and emotional connection. These interests feed directly into my own writing: atmospheric worlds, morally complicated relationships, and stories of transformation.

I'm currently developing a romantic fantasy novella, Where Dying Things Bloom, as part of my creative-led Master of Philosophy research.

Coffee and cheesecake keep me functioning. My son and cat keep life chaotic. Forest walks, fantasy novels, and the strange little magic world of mushrooms keep me grounded.
