Master of Philosophy (Media, Culture and Creative Arts): Research area; Creative-led research project investigating representations of coercive control, manipulation, and toxic relationship dynamics in contemporary fantasy fiction. Combining a fantasy novella with a critical exegesis, the project examines how creative practice can challenge the normalisation of abusive relationship behaviours and reimagine conventional representations of romantic love within young adult fantasy literature.

Skills

Research-driven writing and editing, including copyediting, proofreading, and creative editing. Experienced in feature writing, creative writing, and blog content, with a strong focus on clarity, tone, and narrative structure. Skilled in fact-checking, manuscript appraisal, document formatting, and the preparation of Advanced Information Sheets (AIS).

AWARDS

Three Commendation Awards, Curtin University – School of Media, Creative Arts & Social Inquiry (2020–2021) for outstanding academic achievement.

Each semester, the School’s Board of Examiners recognises students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance across their enrolled units.

CAREER OBJECTIVES

I am drawn to the spaces where language becomes craft, where editing sharpens meaning and storytelling brings the past into focus. I seek opportunities within publishing and editorial work where my skills in copyediting, proofreading, and research can shape precise, compelling written work.

Alongside this, I write with a sustained interest in ancient history and mythology, and I am particularly interested in contributing to magazines and journals that engage with the past as a living narrative rather than a fixed record.

I am also developing my own voice as an author, and I remain open to opportunities within publishing that support the creation and refinement of original written work.
