Peaceful slumber, longed for, and waited with grace.
From mother’s breath I hoped to gain,
Sweat rose upon the brow and I embraced.
Childbirth saw new challenges, but I did not wane.
Sweat rose upon the brow and I held breath,
The end is close now, my mind broken upon the chain.
Birthed, look how he slumbers, and I quiver close to death.
Hush, hush now. Close your eyes and rest,
Sweat rose upon the brow, don’t hold your breath.
Sweat rose upon the brow, drink from my breast.
My sweet child, taste the nectar of life.
Safe and warm upon my chest, we are blest.
